SEPAK RAGA RATUS (MALAYSIA)
Sepak Raga
Ratus is a game playing with rattan ball and mostly played by men. The game is
all about to kick up the ball without fall onto ground as many as possible.
Basically, it will be played in group of 5 people in round shape.
GALAH PANJANG (MALAYSIA)
Galah Panjang
is traditional game and can be play by all type of people including men, women,
children and adult. This game is all about playing to run and not to be touch
by opponent, where opponents need to guard from passing through but they just
can move on the limited place according to the line.
TEROMPAH GERGASI (MALAYSIA)
Terompah
Gergasi is game of wearing a terompah that have been arrange on two wooden
stick, one on right and another on left. This game needs around 4 or 5 people
to wear that terompah and walk in a line from a starting line to finish line.
It needs cooperativeness of all the people to walk together and step out at
same time.
BALING SELIPAR (MALAYSIA)
Baling Selipar
is a game played with only slippers. The attacking team will try to eliminate
the opposing team by hitting the opponents’ body with slippers while standing
on one spot. The attacking team cannot run with the slipper and can only pass
it to another teammate.
KONDA KONDI (INDIA)
This is a favorite outdoor
game of Malaysian children and 2 teams usually play the game in competition
with each other. It can be played using two sticks ½” to ¾” in diameter, one
with a length of 6” and the other 1.5 feet long. A hole of 2” diameter is dug
2” into the ground.
KSR EXPLORE
KSR Explore consists of 3
special games. The names of all 3 games are Cross the Strategy, Circle for
Life, and Mind Your Steps. For Cross the Strategy game, we needs around 4 or 5
people to complete the game by crossing box until you reach the last box. For
Circle for Life, the game needs at least 3 people to complete the task by
change the body to the other side by holding your friend’s hand. For the last
game, all the players inside the triangle need to move to the other side by
using bricks.
KABBADI (INDIA)
Two
teams compete with each other for higher scores, by touching or capturing the
players of the opponent team. Each team consists of 12 players, of which seven
are on court at a time, and five in reserve. The two teams fight for higher
scores, alternating defense and offense. The court is as large as that for a
dodge ball game. The game consists of two 20 minute halves, with a break of
five minutes for change of sides.
TUJU GULI (MALAYSIA)
Tuju Guli is one of the most
popular traditional games that play by the children. Usually, this game mostly
play by 3 or 4 people by throwing marbles out of certain area that has been
selected. The winner will decide by how much he or she can throw and slightly
move the marbles outside the area.
TUJU TIN (MALAYSIA)
Tuju Tin is one of the
challenging game that can be play by all type of people especially children.
This game needs the accuracy of the players to make sure all cans will fall off
the place that has been selected with a certain distance. Players who can make
all the cans fall down will announce as the winner.
KHO KHO (INDIA)
Kho-kho is a traditional Indian game
played across generations. It involves
9 players each team. Eight
chasers will kneel along a line while facing alternate directions. The dodgers,
three at a time will try and evade the ninth chaser which is the active chaser.
The chaser can tag himself out and is only limited to the area which the chaser
is facing.
INDOOR GAMES
MANCANA (EGYPT) - CONGKAK
Game of playing
with a board with has several holes and its balls. Usually its balls is a
marble and it is played by two person oppose each other. They will move the
marble into the next holes and keep moving until lost turn.
CHINESE CHESS (CHINA)
Chinese Chess is one of the
indoor games that popular among the Chinese. It is an Oriental cousin of the more familiar European or
International Chess. Like International Chess, Chinese Chess has two opposing
armies with different kinds of pieces.
CARROM (MALAYSIA)
One of the most popular indoor game nowadays is carrom. Two or
four people can play carrom. If two, the players sit opposite each other, while
with four, the opposite two are partners. As an exception, though, you can play
with three players against each other for points.
DAM (MALAYSIA)
Dam only can play by 2
players. It is slightly difference with chess because of the way of moving its
pieces by the players. This game usually uses the top of the bottle as the
pieces. The only way to win the game is by taking out the pieces and the
players who can finish up the pieces of their opponent will announce as the
winner.
AADU PULI
ATTAM (INDIA)
Aadu Pali Attam is a game of tigers
and goats. It is played on a special
board in which the tiger must capture all the goats while the goats must
evade the tigers.
CHINESE
DOMINOES (CHINA)
In Chinese domino games, players draw tiles from a row of stacked
tiles piled on top of each other to a set height which differs depending on the
game. The tiles also have no central dividing line separating the spots
on either end, but will instead have the two spotted values separated either by
distance or clustered in groups or colored differently. The total
number of spots on a tile is most important in the majority of Chinese domino
games, where as in the majority of Western domino games the spotted suit value
on either end is most important.
GO – WEIQI (CHINA)
Go is a game where the ultimate goal is to capture as many
opposition pieces as possible. It is played on a board and is highly tactical.
SEEGA (ARAB)
The
objective of the game sandwich the opponent’s pieces using ours so that there
is no possible movement can be made by the opposition. It is played on a board
with fifteen squares.
